BBC television series created byJimmy McGovern which follows the lives of different residents of one street inManchester . Produced byITV Productions forBBC One , it began in 2006. It has an all star cast includingTimothy Spall ,Jane Horrocks ,Jim Broadbent andSue Johnston . The second series began airing on8 November 2007 onBBC One . In May 2007 the first series won theBritish Academy Television Award for Best Drama Series .
