Rohilkhand University

M.J.P. Rohilkhand University, Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh, India) was established in 1975 as an affiliating University. Its status was upgraded to affiliating cum residential University in 1985 when teaching departments were established in the campus. The University headquarters is located at Bareilly with its territorial jurisdiction extending over the districts of Bareilly, Moradabad, Rampur, Bijnore, Jyotibaphule Nagar, Baduan, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Noida and Seetapur. The University campus spreads over 206 acre of land. More than 100 degree colleges are affiliated and approximately two laces of students enrolled every year for examinations.

Institute of Engineering & Technology

The Institute of Engineering & Technology (under the Faculty of Engineering & Technology) was established in January 1996 with the aim of providing quality education in the field of Engineering and Technology. The Institute is a constituent part of the M.J.P. Rohilkhand University and is located next to the administrative building of the University on the campus. The Institute started functioning with the admission of students in the B.Tech. courses in three branches : Electronics and Communication, Electronics and Instrumentation and Computer Sciences and Information Technology. From the very next academic session in July 1996 two more B.Tech. branches : Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering and B.Pharma were added to the academic programme of the Institute. In July 1998 another branch of Engineering was introduced with the opening of B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering. The Institute also runs a post graduate course in MCA under the department of Computer Science and Information Technology since 1997.
