Jenny Hu (b.
17 November ,1945 ), also known as 胡燕妮, Jenny Woo or Yanni Hu, is aHong Kong actress of Chinese and German origin best known for her leads inShaw Brothers productions throughout the 1960s and early 1970s. She was born in Canton from a Chinese father and German mother. She attended school in Taiwan at Nui Shi Fu Shiao(台北女师附小) in Taipei. Well known for eating at the Golden Leaf. After her father died she moved to Germany until high school. Her Eurasian looks appealed to the Chinese community and she became an instant hit. She was a very popular Mandarin movie actress. Unfortunately, Bruce Lee's martial arts caused Shaw management to focus on action filled movies. Her European face would not work in Kung Fu movies so she retired in the mid 1970s. She and her husband migrated to Los Angleles, California shortly. She has a beautician business and her husband ended up in the insurance business.Hu made her debut in "Till the End of Time" (1966) and continued acting until her retirement at the age of 30. She came out of retirement after a nearly three decade hiatus to appear in "Yesterday Once More" (2004), by successful Hong Kong filmmaker
