Argo Navis is a chilean
scientific journal ofpopular science , centred onastronomy , focused on amateur astronomers of Hispanic speech. Its first issue was published in April of2005 , and it continues being published of two-monthly basis.Characteristics

mythology , sky charts, interviews, astronomical articles and news, astrophotography, etcetera, trying to cover the interests of astronomy fans and neophytes.Its publishers are amateur astronomers, living most of them on
Antofagasta Region , which concentrates some of the most important observatories of the world, for its exceptional conditions for the astronomic observation. Its director is the amateur astronomer "Farid Char".Name
Its name comes from the ship
Argo , that was used byJason and theArgonauts to search for theGolden fleece .Argo Navis was the biggestconstellation of the sky; nowadays it is disintegrated in 4 constellations: Vela (the Sails),Puppis (the stern), Carina (the keel) andPyxis (the compass).External links
