There are multiple individuals named Rahmatullah, who are known, or accused of being associated with the Taliban:
*Rahmatullah, an Afghan captured in a jitney taxi that was stopped at a roadblock at the site of an ambush, and was held in Guantanamo because he shared the same name as a Taliban leader
*Rahmatullah Hanefi, an Afghan human rights worker, who secured the release of Italian hostages, on two occasions, who was then arrested by Afghan authorities
*Mullah Rahmatullah Mansoor, returned to Afghanistan in 2005, and had non-publicized peace talks with Hamid Karzai
*General Rahmatullah Safi, listed as the Taliban's European ambassador in a list from the United Nation Security Council
*Rahmatullah Sangaryar, another Guantanamo captive accused of being a Taliban leader
*Sayed Rahmatullah Hashemi, a roving Taliban ambassador, who, controversially, accepted a scholarship to attend Yale University
*Mullah Rahmatullah, a Taliban leader, attended a high level meeting of Taliban leaders in May 2002, according to JTF-GTMO analysts
*A Commander Ramatullah commanded the Afghan National Army's 865th Brigade. during the 1980s, when Afghans were fighting their Soviet invaders, according to the allegations faced by Guantanamo captive Alif Mohammed
