The University of Delaware Men's lacrosse is one of the top college programs in the country. Ranked 15th in the country heading into the 2007 NCAA tournament, the team won seven games in a row, the CAA tournament, then advanced to the semi-finals of the NCAAs beating number two Virginia before losing to Johns Hopkins 8 to 3. This was the team's first Final Four appearance. Bob Shillinglaw has coached the team for over 30 years and is only the second man to coach 500 lacrosse games. John Grant Jr. is arguably the world's best lacrosse player. Anthony DiMarzo is 14th all-time in Division I career scoring.
In 2008, Jordan Hall joined the Rochester Rattlers midseason from Chicago, helping his former teammate Alex Smith, and former Hen John Grant, Jr., to lift the Rattlers to their first Major League Lacrosse title in 2008.
