He has played for Russia. He has previously played forSaturn Ramenskoye (2002-2005),FC Dinamo Moskva (2001) andLokomotiv Nizhniy Novgorod (1997-2001). He grew up in St Petersburg with his mother, a ballet dancer. Though his father, a law professor, never married Elena, they bothe carry his surname.
