Superior Bank, the principal subsidiary of Superior Bancorp, is a southeastern community thrift with approximately $2.4 billion in assets. Superior Bancorp, a publicly held company headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, was founded in 1997 as The Banc Corporation and today stands as the second-largest community bank holding company in Alabama. The corporate headquarters are located in the John A. Hand Building on 20th Street North. Superior Bank has 60 branch locations including 38 in Alabama and 22 more in Florida. Over the next two years, Superior Bank plans to add around 11 new branches in Alabama and Florida.
