8STOPS7 is a rock band which was signed to Warner Bros. Records/Reprise Records under the Warner Music Group umbrella in 1999 and toured nationally throughout the early 2000s. Their first major label release, " [http://www.myspace.com/8stops7 In Moderation] ] ", released in 1999 sold more than 150,000 copies, enjoyed widespread national radio airplay, and scored two hits on the Billboard top 40. These included " [http://www.myspace.com/8stops7 Question Everything] ", 2000, and " [http://www.myspace.com/8stops7 Satisfied] ", 2000. They also had two of their songs, " [http://www.myspace.com/8stops7 Satisfied] ", and " [http://www.myspace.com/8stops7 My Would-be Savior] " featured in the Sony Playstation game, "Street Sk8er 2" soundtrack and " [http://www.myspace.com/8stops7 Satisfied] " featured in the Sony Playstation 2 game, "Gran Turismo 3" soundtrack. The video for " [http://www.myspace.com/8stops7 Satisfied] " was featured on the MTV show "120 Minutes". " [http://www.myspace.com/8stops7 Question Everything] ] " was featured on the "Friends Again Soundtrack" CD with music featured from the "Friends" NBC sitcom.Formed in Ventura, California in 1996, the original line-up consisted of singer Evan Sula-Goff, guitarist Seth Watson, bassist Alex Viveros, and percussionist Adam Powell. The band later recruited, Aaron Johnson, who was the vocalist/guitarist of popular local band, [http://2007.sxsw.com/music/showcases/band/37296.html Psycho Cafe] at the time, as a second guitar player and back-up vocalist, now making 8stops7 a five-piece band. Later in late 2001/early 2002 the band went up to Bend, OR for about a month R & R and for a little inspiration to write our next album, which ended up becoming "Bend". It ended up being a very long time before Reprise decided to do anything with the songs and in the mean time the band kept writing. During this time, Viveros, the bassist ended up leaving the band and was soon replaced by bassist Paul Wickstrom. Then in December of 2003, the band was dropped from Reprise Records. 8stops7 went ahead and recorded most of " [http://www.myspace.com/8stops7 Bend] " on our own despite the fact of being dropped. Watson left shortly thereafter to go back to college, UCSD, to pursue a career in pharmacy, and the band once again became a four piece with Johnson as their sole guitarist. Johnson left a few years later to pursue his other project [http://www.myspace.com/lemeulepurr Le Meu Le Purr] . " [http://www.myspace.com/8stops7 Bend] " was later released in 2004. It wasn't until about early 2006 when guitarist Rodney Amieva then joined the band, replacing Johnson. Shortly there after they recruited a young bass player, "Hair", for the replacement of Paul Wickstrom's departure. Then in early 2006, because of missing jamming with the guys and writing music with the band, Seth Watson decided to reunite with 8stops7 (while staying in school). During the third gig after Watson's return, three songs into a one hour set at a venue in Ventura, CA, the bass player, "Hair", unfortunately had to be immediately let go from the band. Luckily, Aaron Johnson, the previous guitar player, was at that show and strapped on the bass to help 8stops7 finish their set. Soon Alex Viveros then also reunited with 8stops7, bringing the band back to its original four piece line-up, in addition to Amieva, who is great asset to the band. This remains their current line-up as of 2008 and hopefully much, much longer. In 2007, three songs off the " [http://www.myspace.com/8stops7 Birth Of A Cynic] " album were featured in a short film by [http://www.myspace.com/contempovision_films Kane George Jason] , called " [http://revver.com/video/243847/hes-not-my He's Not My...] " which was produced by [http://www.cvfilms.net Contempovision Films] .Recently, David Cook, the seventh winner of American Idol, named 8stops7 as one of his top 5 favorite and most influential bands.8stops7 is currently working on their fourth album set to be released in late 2008 or early 2009. Rumor has it that this will be the band's best album to date.
