Linville River

The Linville River is a river in western North Carolina. The river flows off the slopes of Grandfather Mountain in Avery County near the town of Crossnore and moves along a course that is approximately 30 miles (48 km) long, flowing south. The river's course has created several geological formations, including Linville Falls and the Linville Gorge, an area referred to as "The Grand Canyon of North Carolina". The river finally ends its course at Lake James in Burke County.

A variant name, according to the USGS, is Eeseeoh. [GNIS|1012897|Linville River]
