Open-E is a software developing company providing Network Attached Storage (NAS), iSCSI and Fibre Channel (FC) Software solutions with Replication and Backup functions.

Open-E GmbH corporate headquarters is located in Puchheim near Munich, Germany and Open-E, Inc. office located in Redwood City, California, USA.
The company distributes its products through a worldwide network of partners, system builders and integrators who are members of the Open-E Partner Program.

History

Open-E GmbH was founded on September 9, 1998 in Bremen, Germany. The company was specializing in introducing, creating market presences, and selling interesting, innovative IT products with the manufacturers of these products, but also for them, as a Virtual Subsidiary.

As a second business activity, Open-E in late 2001 established its own software team, focusing on building easy storage software for small, middle-sized and large system builders.
