Portsmouth , he was evacuated toDayton, Ohio , in 1940 duringWorld War II . For many years he was a writer for theNew Yorker Magazine .He lives in
Mersea , nearColchester ,Essex , with his wife Margot. They have four daughters: Liz, Annie, Katie and Rachel.His sail boat Lochinvar was seen summer of 2007 at Block Island, RI. Person on it said that Bailey had died. Is this true?
