"Viva Las Vegas" is the first episode in the of the popular American crime drama "", set in Las Vegas, Nevada.

ummary

Grissom works a nightclub shooting with Greg Sanders, who finally found a replacement, Chandra Moore, for his old job in the DNA lab. Greg now only has to pass his final proficiency test. Catherine investigates when a stripper is found dead in a hotel room. Warrick investigates when a man is found electrocuted in his bathtub. Sara and Nick are called in when an 'alien' is found in a shallow grave near. But the alien turns out to be a female stripper paid to play a dirty sex role who is then stabbed and murdered and left to rotArea 51.

Critical analysis

French Stewart played the Alien Minister, marrying people in an extra terrestrially themed chapel. He also played an actual alien in his most famous role in "3rd Rock from the Sun". There are also other references to UFO lore and media about aliens, like "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial". Continuity

*Greg eventually passes his final test in "Who Shot Sherlock?".
*Tony Amendola (best known as Stargate's Bra'tac, another alien) plays the landlord in this episode. He previously appeared as a hand-writing expert in "I-15 Murders" and would return as Professor Rambar in "Secrets and Flies" and "Pirates of the Third Reich".
