- Andy Cousin
Andrew 'Andy' Cousin (born
28 March 1963 , inHuddersfield ,Yorkshire ) is a Britishbass guitarist and, less commonly, guitarist fromHuddersfield inEngland . He is principally famous for being the principal bassist of All About Eve although he has also played for The Mission and is a founder member of theThe Lucy Nation .Before All About Eve (pre-1985)
In the early 1980s Cousin was playing bass in Huddersfield for a goth band called "Aemotti Crii" along with friend (and also future member of All About Eve)
Tim Bricheno . Andy remained with Aemotti Crii until they split up (circa 1984) and then moved down London for a very brief spell with asynth pop band called "Pink and Black" (managing to appear on one of their record covers despite having not played on any of the tracks).Meanwhile "Swarm" (the band that was to become All About Eve) had started out with
Julianne Regan herself on bass and then taken on "James Richard Jackson" at about the same time that Tim Bricheno was recruited on guitar. All About Eve First Era (1985 - 1992)

Cousin was recruited to the (now called) All About Eve in 1985 via Bricheno after Jackson left. He became the mainstay bassist, playing on all four of their albums of the era and remaining with the band after friend Bricheno departed (in
1990 ).eeing Stars (1993)
After negative reaction to All About Eve's fourth album Ultraviolet, Julianne Regan departed in early
1993 , effectively ending the band. Cousin, (along with drummer Mark Price and Willson-Piper) remained in the studio to finish off what would have their fifth album, and it eventually saw the light of day in1997 asSeeing Stars (that being both the name of the album and the band). The Mission (1993-1997)

In late
1993 , Cousin joined the The Mission (after original bassist Craig Adams departed to joinThe Cult ). Cousin played on Mission albums "Neverland" and "Blue" before The Mission's first disabandment.During this time, Cousin also played on a session basis on two of Mice's songs, a band created by Regan that existed between
1995 and1997 .The Lucy Nation (1997 - present)
Cousin formed The Lucy Nation with Swedish singer and pianist
Anna Nyström (who had also guested on "Seeing Stars") andMark Gemini Thwaite on guitars. This band recorded one album, "On" in early1999 (although it seems only promotional copies were ever distributed) and had one song, "Alright", featured on the soundtrack of the film '. Whilst this band never officially announced a split, they have been dormant up until now, but this seems likely to change as their MySpace blog suggests. At the time "The Mission" were being reformed in
1999 ,Wayne Hussey asked Cousin to broach the subject of reforming "All About Eve" with Regan. He then stayed with the band throughout their second era, including theFairy Light Nights period and seeing the departure of yet another guitarist (this time Willson-Piper in2002 ). He co-produced their fifth album Iceland. In2004 All About Eve split again following a directional argument between Cousin and Regan, although this rift appeared to have been healed as All About Eve's major compilationKeepsakes was released with collaboration from both in early2006 . As of May2007 no news has yet been made public about the likely result of the material All About Eve were working on before this split.External References
