Richard Piegza

Richard Piegza (born June 10, 1954) is a Paris-based performer, video, action and installation artist since 1977.

From 1978 to 1982, he created and directed "Ambasada Lingua". In 1982, he moved to Paris, and in 1988, he founded the Wizya Video Art Action, which organizes and documents artistic events and performances. Since 1991, he has been working on the permanent recording, "Remembered Images". He is the author of a movie, "Action Art", made in 1997, and a film called "Performer's Notebook".

In May 1998, together with Michel Giroud and Charles Dreyfus, he organized a Video Conference, "DADA-FLUXUS". It was held in George Maciunas's Office in the "Center for Art" in Vilnius. Richard Piegza is also the artistic director of "Interactions" — "Art Action Festival", that took place in Piotrków Trybunalski — in Poland (ca. 42 km from Łódź).
