They would continue to slump throughout the first 41 games of the season, as they had a 4–32–5 record, but the team would finish the year by going 5–2–0 in their last 7 games, to finish the season with a 9–34–5 record, but failed to avoid finishing in last place in the NHL for the 3rd straight season.
