Masoud Khan

Masoud Khan

Masoud Ahmad Khan (born 1970) is an American who was convicted of conspiracy to levy war against the United States under the Neutrality Act.

A former Gaithersburg, Maryland resident, Khan was charged with paramilitary training, along with roughly fifteen others, in Virginia; he was convicted on the grounds that the paintball exercises were actually part of a jihad group dubbed the "Virginia Jihad Network." After September 11, 2001, Khan traveled overseas and trained with a Pakistani militant group in order to contribute his services to the Taliban in Afghanistan.

On June 15, 2004, Khan was sentenced to life in prison by U.S. District Judge Leonie Brinkema under violations of the Neutrality Act, with additional offenses related to firearms convictions.
