Vîrnav

Vîrnav

Vîrnav is the name of an old Romanian aristocratic family. Its first notable member, Petrache Vîrnav, established himself in what is today northern Moldavia in 1802 [ [http://www.braesti.ro/monografie.html Primaria Brăeşti - Monografie ] ] . His descendent Nicu Vîrnav donated one of his properties to the town of Botoşani and founded a recreation park there, where Romania's national poet Mihai Eminescu spent much of his creative time while in his native city.
