- Kate Buchdahl
Kate Buchdahl (born 30 September, 1964) was a classically trained, Australian-born, violinist.
Kate (full name Catriona Alexis) grew up in Canberra and attended the
AME School upon its inception in 1972. She later graduated from the Canberra School of Music (now the ANU School of Music) and went on to attend theJuilliard School in New York 1983-87. She then studied withSandor Vegh at theMozarteum in Salzburg, and with Valeri Klimov in Saarbrücken. Kate toured internationally as a member of the Camerata Accademica, conducted bySandor Vegh .Kate is the sister of Tanya Buchdahl, wife of the late conductor
Georg Tintner , and of Dr Nicholas Buchdahl, Associate Professor of Pure Mathematics atUniversity of Adelaide .
