- United Nations Security Council Resolution 686
United Nations Security Council Resolution 686, adopted at the 2978th meeting of the Security Council on 2 March 1991, re-confirmed a dozen UN resolutions related to Iraq and demanded that Iraq "implement its acceptance" of all twelve resolutions. Resolution 686 further demanded that Iraq cease all "procovative actions" against Security Council member states and take several specified actions to continue the "cessation of hostilities" following the Gulf War.
It was passed by 11 votes to 1 (Cuba) with three abstentions (China, India, and Yemen).
