Jennifer Keeler-Milne

Jennifer Keeler-Milne (1961-) is an Australian contemporary artist who is best known for her sumptuous landscape oil paintings and large-scale charcoal drawings. Keeler-Milne draws on traditional oil painting techniques to create striking contemporary works.

She trained in Melbourne at Melbourne State College, the Victorian College of the Arts, and the College of Fine Arts, COFA.

Keeler-Milne was awarded the Fred Williams Family Prize in 1991.

Her richly textured and dramatic work transcends its subject matter with deeply evocative references to the landscape that are both imaginative and perceptive.

Her drawings have been frequentally selected to hang in the Dobell Prize for Drawing at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.

She has held multiple solo exhibitions in Australia, and participated in over 30 group exhibitions in Australia & England.

Her work is held by Artbank, the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the Lord Reith collection as well as many private collections in the USA, France England & Australia.

Keeler-Milne has produced two books, My Big Art Adventure: What Colour is That? and My Big Art Adventure: What Number is That? Both books are published by the Art Gallery of New South Wales. My Big Art Adventure: What Number is That? was chosen by The Children’s Book Council of Australia as a Notable Book in the Eve Pownall Award for Information Books 2006, is included in the NSW Premier's Reading Challenge as well as the ACT Chief Minister's Reading Challenge.
