CBE , CA, FRSE, FRSA, FIET is a Scottish businessman educated atEdinburgh Academy and atFettes College .Ward began a career with
IBM at itsGreenock Manufacturing Plant in1966 , and in1991 was appointedManaging Director ofUK Government and Public Service Business after working for the company throughout the world. He has subsequently held a wide range of business andpublic sector jobs, includingChairman of CBI Scotland, Chairman ofScottish Qualifications Authority , Chairman of Quality Scotland Foundation and Chairman of Scottish Homes.His current appointments include the Chairmanship of
Scottish Enterprise and of European Assets Trust NV. He is also aTrustee of theNational Museums of Scotland and was Chairman ofDunfermline Building Society between1995 and2007 .Ward was awarded the CBE in
