Farah Abushwesha

Farah Abushwesha ( _ar. فرح أبو شويشة) is an award-winning filmmaker of Libyan and Irish descent.

Biography

Abushwesha was born to an Irish mother and Libyan father. She has worked for Warner Brothers Television, the TNT, Cartoon Network and Moving Picture Company. Farah has a diploma in Journalism and trained as an actress at the The Poor School in London, England. She has worked as a radio presenter in Ireland and France, and as a reporter for Boulevard Magazine (Paris), Irish Eyes (Paris) and The Irish Star covering the 1995 MTV Movie Awards. Abushwesha was selected by the European Commission and the British Council to represent Ireland as part of a film project celebrating the enlargement of Europe taking part in panel discussions in Brussels and Sweden for Media Desk. Farah has also worked as Deputy Head of Diploma Studies at the London Film Academy overseeing student graduation film productions. Farah has been selected by BAFTA as a new talent to watch, featuring in the October 2006 Bafta Academy Magazine. She is currently developing several feature film ideas based on original ideas and her father, Redhwan Abushwesha's, short stories.
