David Bowes is an American painter, born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1957, and first recognized during the early 1980s in New York's East Village. He has been described as being a "brilliant painter",[1] and having a "delicacy of touch and genuine fascination with the medium of paint."[2]
Bowes' work is exhibited in the United States and Europe. He participated in the 48th Venice Biennale in 1999.[3] His work is held in the collection of the Walker Art Center.[4] and the Broad Contemporary Art Museum at LACMA.
