Vamsi Mootha is a physician-scientist and computational biologist. He holds the position of Associate Professor of Systems Biology and Medicine at
Massachusetts General Hospital andHarvard Medical School . He is also a Senior Associate Member of theBroad Institute .He is a
2004 recipient of the Macarthur Foundation "genius award" for his contributions to mitochondrial biology and genomics.He received his BS in Mathematical and Computational Science from
Stanford University in1993 and his M.D. fromHarvard University in1998 . He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, and then pursued postdoctoral training at the Whitehead Institute/MIT Center for Genome Research.External links
