Alfred (Al) Wilhelm Taubenberger is a Republican politician from Northeast Philadelphia. He has run for office three times, losing every time. He later held staff jobs for Republican Congressman Charles F. Dougherty in the early 1980s and later for two City Council members, Democrat Joan Krajewski and Republican Jack Kelly.

Taubenberger has run for Congress twice, losing both times. Taubenberger is also president of the Greater Northeast Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce and the founder and president of the Burholme Civic Association and Town Watch.

Taubenberger has been married twice and has 4 children. His children, Matthew, Elisabeth, and Sarah were produced from his first marriage to his ex-wife Barbara (née Muller) Taubenberger. His youngest son, William is from his second wife Joanne (née Brenner) Taubenberger.
