Hampstead Academy

Hampstead Academy is an independent school situated on a wooded nine acre campus in southern New Hampshire. Established in 1978, Hampstead Academy is approved by the New Hampshire State Department of Education and Health and Human Services, and is fully accredited by New England Association of Schools and Colleges. The school has active memberships in The Independent School Association of Northern New England, The New England League of Middle Schools, The NH Science Teachers Association and the Independent Schools of Northern New England. Located on 320 East Road, Hampstead, the school serves students in Nursery through Grade 8.

The school is currently operating at full capacity with approximately 260 students, 200 attending Grades 1-8 and 60 attending nursery and kindergarten. The majority of Hampstead Academy students reside within a radius of approximately convert|25|mi|km of the school, including more than 35 New Hampshire and Massachusetts towns.

Athletics

Hampstead Academy offers a variety of in-school and after-school sports activities. The program includes Basketball, Demolition Derby, Soccer, Baseball, Dodgeball, Fencing, Cross Country, Swimming, Skiing, Volleyball and Golf. With a full court gymnasium, Basketball and Volleyball are expanding and competitive games with local schools are now incorporated into the program. In all cases, cooperative team spirit and physical fitness are primary goals.

Enrichment programs

Throughout the year, after-school enrichment activities and sports are offered for students' interest and enjoyment. Some of the activities take place on school grounds while others are at off-campus locations. Hampstead Academy's after-school sports program includes intramural sports, soccer, baseball, cross country, swimming, basketball, skiing and golf. Other enrichment programs offered include SSAT preparation, Improv, a Drama Club, Chinese Club, Destination Imagination, Lego League, Orchestra, Select Chorus, and HAT day (Help After-School on Thursdays.) Instrument lessons are provided during regular music class and are paid separately to the instructor. Fees for these activities are charged separately.
