SAJC Queen's Cup

The SAJC Queen's Cup is a Group 3 Australian thoroughbred horse race for horses aged 3 years old and upwards, over a distance of 2000m.

The race was first held in 1930 and has been run spasmodically ever since.

It is held at Morphettville Racecourse in Adelaide.

Race History

1930 - 1966 held over 12 furlongs (approx. 2400m)
1972 - 1990 held over 2400m
1996 onwards held over 1200m.

1930 – 1978 was a Principal Race
1984 onwards Group 3

1930 - 1948 the race was known as the "SAJC King's Cup"
1954 onwards the race has been called the "SAJC Queen's Cup".
