The plant is named after and grows[1][2] in the Tatra Mountains, which lie in Slovakia and Poland.
The Polish population of the plant totals no more than several dozens, and it is concentrated at the Mięguszowiecki Szczyt (Slovak: Veľký Mengusovský štít)[3] Mountain, which is situated on the Slovak-Polish border.
