Born the youngest of six children to Diana and William Steele in Saratoga Springs, New York, Steele credits his mother Diana and grandmother Rose as two of his earliest style inspirations. [2].
Career
Steele began his career as a celebrity journalist and continues to contribute to magazines like Gotham (magazine) and Travel + Leisure. He worked on-staff at ELLE, Mirabella, and Premiere Magazine. He began working as a fashion stylist after a brief stint at Polo Ralph Lauren, where he was part of the team that launched POLO.com. Steele's celebrity dressing clients have included: Beyonce Knowles, Denzel Washington, Claire Danes, Dennis Quaid, Katie Couric, Elettra Rossellini Wiedemann, Emilie de Ravin, and many other high profile celebrities.
Coverage of his styling work has appeared many publications and on broadcast outlets including Vogue, Elle, InStyle, W Magazine, WWD, The New York Times, US Weekly, Lucky Magazine, Life & Style Weekly, Entertainment Tonight, EXTRA, Life & Style and E Entertainment Television.
Steele dispenses fashion advice online at Amazon.com's mydream.tv and has appeared as an expert and guest judge on numerous fashion and style-related television shows including Full Frontal Fashion, Style Network, E! Entertainment Television, Showtime, and VH1. Steele worked as a consultant on the national fashion competition television series STYLE ME with Rachel Hunter for the WE: Women's Entertainment network. He helped shape and develop the content of the series and worked on-set with the cast, crew and producers.
Steele has donated his time to support to the Lollipop Theater Network, Just One Frickin Day (JOFD.org), Earthpledge, the Entertainment Industry Foundation, the NCCRA, God's Love We Deliver, and Sak's Fifth Avenue's Key to the Cure.
