This is a list of members of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly from 1971 to 1973:

:1 Tamworth MLA Bill Chaffey was elected as a Country Party member, but resigned from the party during 1972. He served out his term as an independent.:2 Mosman Liberal MLA Philip Morton resigned on June 16, 1972. Liberal candidate David Arblaster won the resulting by-election on July 29.:3 Charlestown ALP MLA Jack Stewart died on September 19, 1972. ALP candidate Richard Face won the resulting by-election on November 18.:4 Hawkesbury Liberal MLA Bernie Deane resigned on October 24, 1972. Liberal candidate Kevin Rozzoli won the resulting by-election on February 17, 1973.:5 Armidale Country Party MLA Davis Hughes resigned on January 17, 1973. Country Party candidate Dr David Leitch won the resulting by-election on February 17, 1973.:6 Byron Country Party MLA Stanley Stephens resigned on January 17, 1973. Country Party candidate Jack Boyd won the resulting by-election on February 17, 1973.:7 Murray MLA Joe Lawson was elected as a Country Party member, but resigned during this term to sit as an independent. He later died on August 14, 1973. His daughter, Mary Meillon, contested and won the resulting by-election for the Liberal Party on October 6.:8 South Coast Liberal MLA Jack Beale resigned on October 19, 1973. No by-election was held due to the proximity of the 1973 state election.
