David M McDonald (born 1964), is an American genealogist and
Protestant minister. He holds credentials under the auspices of theBoard for Certification of Genealogists and has written several genealogies and source books of genealogical content, particularly related to churches of theUnited Church of Christ .McDonald has served on the board of directors of the
Association of Professional Genealogists and is editor of the "Wisconsin State Genealogical Society Newsletter," and he contributes to the Iowa Genealogical Society's "Hawkeye Heritage." He is a frequent contributor to genealogical publications, including the Nebraska State Genealogical Society "Ancestree" and the "Illinois State Genealogical Society Quarterly." He has published pieces in "Family History Monthly," a British monthly magazine for hobbyists, as well. He is a regular contributor to "Forum," the quarterly of the Federation of Genealogical Societies.He lectures widely on matters of genealogical interest, including at the national congress of the
Sons of the American Revolution , and at theNational Genealogical Society conference inChicago , both in the summer of 2006.He is a member of the
Society of Genealogists , theNew England Historic Genealogical Society , and is a life member of the Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania and the Genealogical Society of New Jersey.An ordained minister in the United Church of Christ, David is an alumnus of
Beloit College andEden Theological Seminary . He has served UCC congregations in Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin, and active in the Southwest Association of the Wisconsin Conference of the United Church of Christ. He served as a delegate to General Synod 26 in Hartford, Connecticut.External links
