Luis Miguélez

Luis Miguélez (musician, guitar-player, writer, composer, producer) Luis started in the music business long time ago in Leon. He moved to Barcelona, Valencia, Bilbao and finally Madrid during La Movida Madrileña (new cultural movement after Franco-dictator's dead). In the 1980s, when Pedro Almodovar, the Oscar-winning film director and singer started his career and played in a band called " ALMODOVAR & MCNAMARA. FABIO MCNAMARA and LUIS MIGUELEZ got on well from the moment they met and started collaborating on music projects. In 1987, they released an EP under the name Fanny y los +. The first album -A TTUTTI PLEIN- came out in 1994 with MCNAMARA as the name of the band. Pedro Almodovar collaborates sometimes with them on Stage and also invites them for a TV show dedicated to the premiere of the movie All about my mother in 1999.At the same time Luis was the guitar-player of "ALASKA Y DINARAMA", one of the most popular Spanish bands. They sold millions of records in Spain and South America. The band was very successful until the beginning of the 90's. By then, they decided to dissolve the band and together with ALASKA -Spanish musical icon- and Nacho Canut, they founded FANGORIA (pop-techno-band). He composed the first single and hit of this band "EN MI PRISION" which was voted the best song of the year by Rock de Luxe (Spanish famous musical magazine) . Then Luis left the band and founded his own band METALICOS, a very famous glam-rock band released by Virgin records, their video of the song "PANICO" was running on MTV Europe for 3 months. During this time Luis works hardly as composer and producer for many different artists: LOLA FLORES -Spanish flamenco-copla myth- / LAIN -flamenco techno- Alejandro Sanz - at that time named "ALEJANDRO MAGNO", Luis wrote and composed his first album "Los chulos son pa´cuidarlos". Now ALEJANDRO SANZ is a great Latino superstar, he sells millions of albums. / BACCARA, international superstars since the 70's, he remixed " Yes sir, i can boogie", " Sorry i´m a lady " and finally he produced and composed the album: BACCARA "Face to face" / LAS CHAMORRO -a rumba-pop band- / TAMARA, an up-coming Spanish underground idol, (her single sold Gold- + 25.000 units in Spain- 9 weeks number 1 in the charts), COMANDO 9MM, LOS NIÑOS DEL BRASIL, SARA, LOURDES ROBLES, ANA MARIA, JUAN CARLOS VALENCIAGA, JUAN TORMENTO, TIJERITAS, ... Besides that, Luis wrote the Spanish song for the EUROVISION contest in 1992, tittled TODO ESTO ES LA MUSICA and performed by SERAFIN ZUBIRI. He also recorded a solo album -GUITAR DEVOTION- with the name SANLUI (1999) with different artists collaborations and including personal versions of classics songs like: Vicious, Smoke on the water,...The latest success as a member of the duo called "MCNAMARA", LUIS MIGUELEZ and FABIO MCNAMARA are back to the indie scene with a new CD "Rock Station". The album is acclamed by the specialized press/media and now is a "Kult-album" like his other one: LUIS MIGUELEZ "ALTO STANDING", a compilation including the most important Drags, Transvestites, Transexualls and "Nightclubbing-Freaks" of Spain, LA PROHIBIDA, JILL, PARANOIKA GONSALES, PSICOSIS GONSALES, DIOSSA Y MALIZZIA, JOSEPHINE, .... DECEMBER 2001.........Afterwards, he decided to continue his personal and professional evolution by moving to Berlin where he lives and he started his latest project GLAMOUR TO KILL. From Berlin Glamour to kill published their first album -MUSIK POUR THE RATAS-, moving on all over the world with concerts in Moscow, New York, London, Paris, Amsterdam,...and a big success in Spain. During this time Luis has been collaborating with many other artists in Berlin like ERIC D. CLARK, BERLINS SQUEEZE BOX BAND with PEACHES, NAMOSH, MIGNON, MISH FISH, GUTTED GARDENS, ...Luis masterized the Berlin Insane I album and he also is the CHANTALS HOUSE OF SHAME album producer and composer -compilation album with many artists -CHANTAL, SHERRY VINE, GLORIA VIAGRA, POLLA DISASTER, BABRA LUCIA, HENDRYK, DESIREE NICK, BIANCA FOX, GLAMOUR TO KILL, ... playing at the famous party in Berlin-. Somehow he got connection with LARRY TEE and remixed a song with PRINCESS JULIA as singer for the LARRY TEE s album -ROCK&RAVE-. For another artists LUIS MIGUELEZ & STEVE MORELL have made remixes of THE VANISHING -San Francisco- and THE NIHILIST -Prague. Luis also has made the music for the short films CONTRADICCIONES by MERITXELL CAMPOS OLIVE and JULIA by JACKIE BAIER and the music, songs and performance in the film NACKT IN ACTION by INGO HEISE.

DECEMBER 2006.........Now Luis is working on his solo project named LUIS MIGUELEZ & THE GLITTERS and collaborating with another artists.....wie immer!.

"Glitter Klinik" is the CD album released on April 2007.
