hydroelectricity scheme on theWaikato River in theNorth Island ofNew Zealand . It is located 65kilometre s southeast of Hamilton, to the north ofMangakino .The dam, at the small settlement of
Arapuni at the lake's northern end, was the first constructed on the Waikato, and was completed in 1929. The lake covers 9 square kilometres.External links
