height of land , the notch drains into theSwift Cambridge River , thence into theDead Cambridge River andUmbagog Lake , the source of theAndroscoggin River , which drains intoMerrymeeting Bay , theestuary of theKennebec River , and thence into theGulf of Maine .To the south, the notch drains into the Bear River, thence into the Androscoggin.Maine's
Grafton Notch State Park includes the land along the bottom of the notch, and extends as far south as the summit ofOld Speck Mountain on the southwest side of the notch.
