- Katzmann Report
The Katzmann Report (or Final Report by Katzmann) is one of the most important testimonies relating to the
Holocaust in Poland and extermination ofPolish Jews . It is a report ofSS -Gruppenfuehrer Fritz Katzmann , Commander of the SS and Police in the District of Galicia, entitled "Loesung der Judenfrage im Distrikt Galizien" (TheSolution of the Jewish Question in theDistrict of Galicia ) submitted on June 30, 1943 to the SS and police chiefF. W. Krieger . It describes part of theOperation Reinhard .The Report was published in German and Polish. A Polish translation of the report had already been published in the 1950s, but with the censors taking out references on the communist underground, and without a scholarly edition that came with the contemporary edition.
