The Shorbodolio Kendrio Rashtrobhasha Kormi Porishod (All-Parties Central Language Action Committee) was the leading political organisation in the Bengali Language Movement of East Bengal. On January 31, 1952 the organisation was formed in a meeting at the Bar Library Hall of Dhaka University, chaired by Maulana Bhasani. The Government of Pakistan's proposal of writing the Bangla language in Arabic script was vehemently opposed at the meeting. At this meeting, the "Shorbodolio Kendrio Rashtrabhasha Koarmiporishod" was formed, composing of about 40 members. The committee also called for complete agitation on February 21, including strikes and rallies.
