Westholme School

Westholme School, is a single sex selective private school after ages 7-11 however those that are younger are admitted into the school. The school is located in Blackburn, England. There are five separate departments of the school which cater students from nursery to sixth form. Each "school" has a specific gender and age of students. The five different departments are:

*Upper School - Wilmar Lodge For Girls Aged 11-18, this also incorporates the School's Sixth Form
*Middle School - Beardwood Bank For Girls Aged 7-11
*Boys' School - Beardwood House For Boys Aged 7-11 "Opened 2003"
*Lower School - Billinge House For Girls and Boys Aged 3-7
*Pre School Nursery For Girls and Boys aged 2-3 "Opened 2006"

Westholme is the largest independent fee-paying school in Blackburn. Westholme was allowed to move to mixed-sex status (up to age 11) in 2003, although Westholme continued the tradition of single sex education, that is boys and girls are taught separately. In 2004, Westholme was awarded the prestigious Sportsmark Gold for its outstanding achievements in sport throughout the school.
