fantasy short stories by Irish writerLord Dunsany , considered a major influence on the work ofJ. R. R. Tolkien ,H. P. Lovecraft ,Ursula LeGuin and others. The first editions, inhardcover , were published simultaneously inLondon andNew York byElkin Mathews andMitchell Kennerly , respectively, in April, 1915.
