Türkiye Petrolleri Anonim Ortaklığı (TPAO) is the national oil and gas company of Turkey and one of the most important industrial companies in the country. The company had in 2005 reserves of 558 million barrels of oil equivalent and it is expected to grow to 1.5 billion barrels of oil equivalent in 2010. TPAO produced a daily average of 70.000 barrels of oil equivalent in 2005 and in 2010, it is expected to produce a daily average of 300.000 barrels of oil equivalent.

Operations

The company is based in Ankara, but has activities especially in the Caspian Region, North Africa and the Middle East. TPAO carries out its exploration and production activities in Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Libya, Syria, Turkmenistan, Georgia, Iraq, Egypt, Russia and Algeria.
