Addison-Wesley is a
book publishingimprint of Pearson PLC, best known for computer books. As well as publishing books, Addison-Wesley distributes its technical titles through the Safari Books Onlinee-reference service.
Melbourne Wesley Cummingsfounded Addison-Wesley in 1942, with first book published by Addison-Wesley being MIT professor Francis Weston Sears' "Mechanics". Its first computer book was "Programs for an Electronic Digital Computer", by Wilkes, Wheeler, and Gill. In 1970, Addison-Wesley acquired W.A.
