agricultural town located in the north easternEyre Peninsula ,South Australia approximately 630 km from the state's capital,Adelaide . The name 'Ungarra' is derived from a nearbywaterhole of the same name.Settlers started farming the area in the early1900s , however only a few of their originalhomestead s still stand, one being the Darve Homestead. Anotherrelic of the past is the oldwindmill that still stands in Pioneer Memorial Park within the township.The town has a number of facilities, including
sporting grounds and aprimary school . The town is part of a populartourist drive that can be done from Tumby Bay, with no camping oraccommodation available within the town. Other conveniences include publictoilets andpayphones .External links
