- Taklung Kagyu
The Taklung Kagyu is a relatively obscure sub-sect of the
Kagyu school ofTibetan Buddhism .History
The lineage was founded by
Taklung Tangpa over 800 years ago. There are three branches of the Taklung--the upper in the Lhasa area, and Talung barthang or middle in the northern tibet and the lower , based out ofRiwoche Taklung Monastery atDokham in easternTibet . At present there are three main lineage holders of the upper Taklung: H.H. Matrul Rinpoche, H.H. the 15th Taklung Rinpoche, and Taklung Sabdrung Rinpoche; and three main lineage holders of the lower Taklung: H.H. Taglung KyabgonPhakchok Rinpoche , Taklung Kyabgon Jedrung Rinpoche, and Taklung Shabdrung Rinpoche (not the same one).The 15th Taklung has began to travel to Europe, Asia, Canadad and USA, since rinpoche has fleeded from Tibet in the end of year 2007. It is after the sincere wishes from H.E (late) the 11th Taklung Tseptrul Rinpoche, that the 15th Taklung Ripnoche works to preserved the profound teachings, empowerment and lineage of glorious Taklung Kagyu lineage.
Many of the Taklung Kagyu tulkus are also
