Armadillo Publishing

Armadillo Publishing, incorporated in Texas in 2000, originated as Armadillo Books in 1997 and is one of the first print on demand (POD) publishers in the nation. The company was founded by author Larry Simpson, who self-published a number of books through the development of POD prior to other writers approaching him to publish on demand their manuscripts. Due to limited resources, Mr. Simpson asked the writers for cooperative funding, coining the term "co-publishing," which is used to differentiate from full publishing whereby the publisher bears the entire cost of editing, typesetting, printing and marketing of the books.
