Monster world

Monster World is featured in the original Yu-Gi-Oh manga vol. 7-8. Ryo Bakura, a new transfer student quickly becomes friends with Yugi, Tea (or Anzu in the manga),Joey (or Jonouchi in the manga), and Tristen (or Honda). He invites them over to play his favorite game, Monster World, similar to Dungeons and Dragons, but the evil spirit of the Millennium Ring takes over. Yugi becomes a half-elf beast tamer, Jonouchi is a human warrior, Anzu is an apprentice magician elf, Honda becomes a human magic gunman, for the game. The Dark Bakura, who is the Evil Master for the game, eventually seals all their souls into the lead figures they were using to play the game, leaving only the spirit of the puzzle to roll the dice. He makes it a rule to be sealed inside their figure if Zorc, the Boss of the game gets a critical hit, a 00 on the ten-sided dice they used to play the game, if the adventurers roll a fumble, a 99, or if they break the rules. He did this so that he could steal Yugi's Millennium Item, the Millennium Puzzle. Along the way to Zorc Castle, Yugi, a.k.a. the beast tamer, tames two monsters, a dragon and a monster, shaped like Kirby, called Pokii. They encounter Zorc, level 15, very fast, but because they are all level 1, though so they cannot defeat Zorc. Yugi tries to tame Zorc, but pulls out of his severed wrist, Bakura, The White Wizard, level 13. By gaining this powerful ally, Zorc's defences go down because of the white magic, and the wizard saves them from their hit points reaching zero. In the end, the evil spirit of the ring rolls a 00, but the subconscious Bakura seals his soul in the two ten-sided-dice and sacrifices himself to destroy them. Zorc is defeated and the White Wizard is able to restore Bakura because it was a shadow game. At the end of the English manga, included is an easier to play version of Monster World.
