Knark

Knark

Knark is a rootkit for the Linux kernels 2.2 and 2.4. It is a Loadable kernel module that uses system call redirection to hide its presence as well as providing other functions, like typing 'rootme /bin/sh' to get a root shell.

Knark is named after a Swedish and Norwegian slang term for "illegal drugs" or "narcotics", and are by programmers speaking those languages sometimes used as a metasyntactic variable, like foo or bar.Fact|date=September 2008
