Jermaine Mickey is best known as a member of the R&B group
II D Extreme , which includesD'Extra Wiley ,Randy Gill (Legendary R&B singerJohnny Gill 's brother), and, as of 1997, rapperSage Lee . With II D, Jermaine enjoyed success with the singles "Cry No More," "Up On the Roof", "If I Knew Then What I Know Now," and a cover of "Outstanding" by the Gap Band. In addition to being certified as a gold record by the RIAA, "Cry No More" reached #15 on the crossover chart, #1 and #3 on Radio & Records and Billboard charts, spent 4 weeks at #1 on BET's Video Soul countdown, 7 weeks at #1 for Jet Magazine’s top charts, garnered a Soul Train Music Awards nomination, and received an ASCAP award for best urban debut song.Jermaine's television appearances with the group include the
Jay Leno Show ,Arsenio Hall Show ,Soul Train ,BET ,MTV , and other television and live performances. With the demise of MCA, II D's record label, the group went on a hiatus. During this time, Jermaine continued to use his gift performing gospel and background vocals on various projects, including onRandy Gill 's upcoming solo cd.Jermaine is currently in the studio working on his highly anticipated debut gospel album, "Testimonies', which will be released Fall of 2008.
