Giovanni Odazzi (1663 –
June 6 ,1731 ) was an Italian painter and etcher of theBaroque period, active mainly inRome .He was a pupil of
Ciro Ferri , then worked under the guidance ofGiovanni Battista Gaulli . He also worked withCornelis Bloemaert . Among his many works in Rome, he painted a "Prophet Hosea" forSan Giovanni in Laterano and a "Fall of Lucifer and rebel angels" for the basilica of theSanti Apostoli in Rome. He frescoed the cupola of the cathedral of San Bruno inVelletri . He painted an "Adoration of the Magi" and "Flight to Egypt" for the church ofSanta Maria in Aracoeli in Rome. He also painted altarpieces forSanta Maria degli Angeli , a "Dream of Joseph" forSanta Maria della Scala , San Clemente,Santa Maria in Via Lata andSan Giovanni in Laterano .References
