Bernardo Parentino (c. 1434 or 1437 – 1531) was an Italian painter of the
Renaissance period, active mainly inPadua .Born in
Parenzo , then a Venetian town inIstria and died inVicenza . He was influenced, if not a pupil, of the painterAndrea Mantegna . He became anAugustinian monk under name of "Lorenzo". He painted "Scenes of the life of San Benedetto" for the cloister of Santa Giustina atPadua , and a "Nativity" once at theAccademia in Venice. He painted a nightmarish "Temptation of St. Anthony Abbot" found at theDoria Pamphilj Gallery .
