Exmouth Community College

Exmouth Community College is a comprehensive school in Exmouth, Devon, England. The college provides both secondary education and further education for the local community. It is the only such college in the town of Exmouth. The current principal is Mr A K Alexander. The Green Close site is primarily for the 'lower school' (years 7-9) while the Gipsy Lane site caters for the 'upper school' (years 10-11) and sixth form (post-16). Both sites have undergone rapid development in the last ten years, with the Turner Building (1997) and Pauline Hitchings Building (2005) opening on the Green Close site and Judith Telfer Centre on the Gipsy Lane site (1997).The school has the largest number of students in East Devon (2,327 pupils including 6th form).

Specialist status

The school has specialist status in Maths and ICT for two years. The funding that has accompanied this status has ensured that all teaching staff have their own laptop and many of the classrooms have interactive whiteboards.

In 2003 a new uniform was introduced replacing the old sweatshirts and polo shirts. The new uniform consists of jumper with the college crest and ties. Each year group have different ties, year 7 yellow, year 8 silver/white, year 9 green, year 10 blue, and year 11 purple.
